Hello and Welcome!

District law requires that each Commission publish an annual report or newsletter that summarizes the activities of the Commission in service to the community over the preceding 12 months, including a highlighting of key issues voted upon, comments submitted to District agencies, and issuance of community grants. ANC 3A is publishing its second annual report, which may be viewed here.

The Ward 3 Councilmember, Matthew Frumin, introduced a ceremonial resolution to recognize, honor, and celebrate our fellow 3A Commissioner, the late Judy Havemann on October 29. Judy was a longtime resident of DC, worked at the Washington Post for 33 years, and served as the first elected Commissioner of Single Member District 3A02 in ANC 3A. She was a dedicated and responsive representative for her constituents, focused on traffic safety, sidewalk and street maintenance, bus service, park service, and public safety. We thank Councilmember Frumin for introducing this resolution and the Council for passing it. The ceremonial resolution may be viewed here.

In June 2024, Sidwell Friends began work to renovate the Upton Street building, once the Washington Home & Community Hospices nursing home, into a new Upper School for grades 9-12.
