Due to a request from the Executive Office of the Mayor (EOM), DDOT met with staff from Sidwell Friends and Hearst Elementary to address challenges during pick-up/drop-off (PUDO) on 37th St NW. DDOT will adjust PUDO signage on both sides of the 3900 block of 37th St NW, as well as the west side of the 4000 block. You may view the Notice of Intent here.

All comments on this subject matter must be filed in writing by May 13th, (thirty business days after the date of this notice), with the District Department of Transportation, Transportation Operations Administration, 250 M Street, S.E. Washington, D.C. 20003. A local volunteer group called Friends of Bus Transit (FoBus) has been formed to track how WMATA’s “Better Bus” reconfiguration of Metrobus services is working in neighborhoods including our ANC area and gather recommendations for improvements.

In June 2024, Sidwell Friends began work to renovate the Upton Street building, once the Washington Home & Community Hospices nursing home, into a new Upper School for grades 9-12.
